Yesterday my little man turned one month old. I still can’t believe how fast that month went. If you’ve been following me for years you know that I did a year progression project with Adalyn. So naturally I’m going to do one with Connor. I figured the the 1 month mark would be the best time to show the first few photos. I’ve been taking them weekly and I’ll take one at 6 weeks before doing it on a monthly bases. I’m also going to include some facts about him each month with his development. I think this is the best project and I love all the photos at the end of the first year, they are so fun to look at. So lets get started!

ONE MONTH

– We’ve got no weight or height since we go in at 6 weeks but at his two week appointment he was 7lbs 1oz and 20.5 inches long. He was 10% for weight and 50th for height. Long and skinny.
– All that said, you are growing like a weed! You are officially out of newborn clothes and are fitting into a few 0-3 months but mostly 3 months since you are so dang tall. We are still swimming since you’ve got your Daddy’s skinny gene.
– You are a pretty mellow baby. The first “big” cry you had was on Christmas Eve and it was in the car. Other than that you don’t cry much.
– You like to be awake in the early morning after about 1am. You don’t cry but fuss if we put you down. So we rock you for a few hours and you finally go back to sleep.
– You love your sister. Every time you see/hear her you follow her sounds.
– Loudness puts you to sleep. When it goes quiet you wake up. This doesn’t help the day/night confusion you have going on.
– You love to snuggle. Mommies chest is your favorite place to sleep.
– Big sister loves to hold you and it’s sweet watching the bond develop between you two.
– You are the best eater and love to eat.
– You rolled over a few days ago. I’m hoping it was a fluke but you’ve been able to roll on your side since day one so I doubt it.
– You make the cutest pursing of the lips face constantly. Week 3 photo shows this and so does your birth announcements which I’ll share soon.
– You are going bald. The hair on top of your head is falling out. The sides are still hairy so you look like a bald old man.
– Your Daddy has strong genes and you look just like him. Although you have my Dad’s chin.
– We’ve got a few nicknames for you which are Buddy and Little Man. Adalyn loves to call you Buddy too.
– You complete this family in the most perfect way.

  • 10/365 – 6 Weeks » Melissa Noste - […] I still can’t believe it’s been six weeks now since he came into the world. Time is passing way too quickly. So as always I’m going to include some stats and little things I want to remember at this stage. Also if you want to see previous photos click HERE. […]ReplyCancel

We are in the final weeks. To say we are ready is an understatement. I will admit, I’m not the most fun to be around and this little dude is acting like he’d love to get out as well. Adalyn even asked me the other day to go to the doctor and get baby brother out. She’ll be singing a different tune in a few short weeks. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Although we are all mentally and physically ready, we are unfortunately NOT ready with the house. We finally got the room put together last weekend but we still have so much organizing and cleaning to do. Funny how with Adalyn I was done with everything about a month ago in my pregnancy. This one I think I have all the time in the world. HA! At least we have everything, that’s the important part.

Lastly I thought it would be fun to pull out a picture of me at 35 weeks of Adalyn (left photo) and recreate it. I really wanted to do this last weekend when I was in fact 35 weeks but it was a busy weekend and I got a cold. So I made sure to do it this weekend. Not much difference in one week right. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But let me tell you I knew I was carrying different with this one but you can see it as well. Adalyn was VERY round in my belly. This little dude just sticks right out front. He’s like a watermelon shoved up my shirt. Ha! So glad I did this and it’ll be fun to show the kiddos when they’re older.

But for now I’m off to rest, I might be quiet till after the baby is born, who knows. Although I can tell you I will be starting a new 365 project again at the first of the year, so this blog will eventually become active again. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I have a handful of photog friends who started this month and I’m so jealous I can’t start with them. But sometimes you have to realize your limitations and starting one right now is just not in the cards. I’m sure the new baby will help with the motivation come the the 1st of January.

Captain America had a fantastic night. For once I was good and didn’t spend the whole time taking photos and actually enjoyed some time with my sweet girl. It was awesome at the end of the night to know I got a few good pictures but didn’t sacrifice being in the moment. I think it’s something a lot of momtogs struggle with and I love that I found a balance. Now to convince my girl that she doesn’t need to eat ALL her candy today.
