It’s been a while since I last participated in this circle and I’m so happy to be back. I’m hoping I can get a few more letters in before our addition comes. So once you’re done reading my letter please head on over to my dear friend Jennifer’s blog.

Dear Adalyn,

These last three months are big months for you sweet girl. This month you started preschool. PRESCHOOL! Where did time go that you are going to school?! Although I get choked up thinking about you being school I am so proud of you. You are ready and I know you will excel at everything you do. I love how even at the mention of the word school you get so excited and pack your bag with toys and randomness and then inform me that you’re ready. By the time this post actually goes up you will have finally attended your first day and I can not wait to hear all about it.

Also this last part of the year will be your big promotion to big sister. Every time you go to the “baby doctor” with Mommy you inform me that you are the big sister. You love to come kiss Mommy’s belly good night and you love to fell him move. I know you are you going to be the best big sister to you little bro. He is going to be so lucky to have you in his life.

You my big girl are turning into such a beautiful little lady and I can not be more proud. I can’t wait to see what the months ahead hold for us and see how much you grow and change.

I love you,
Mommy
xoxo

One of my favorite things to do is recreate a photo of Adalyn a year later. It’s so fun to see how much she’s grown and changed. I never really plan these except for a shot I do every winter and this one was no exception. She was just riding her bike back and forth and I decided to pick up my camera. She’s getting so big and I’m such a proud mama. I thought I had a post on last years picture but realized I didn’t have this blog so I’ll put that shot from last year below.

I’ve been horrible at documenting this pregnancy. I feel pretty bad about it. But not feeling well has made it hard to even pick up a camera let alone blog. But over the weekend on our anniversary getaway I finally got my first belly picture. This kid is sitting very weird in my belly that it looks weird. To me anyways. Adalyn was a perfect little basketball hanging out in there so he definitely is making my belly an odd shape. Oh well. He’s a very healthy and active little babe who likes to kick the heck out of my bladder. So here are some fun things I want to remember about this pregnancy so far.

– Adalyn is totally into the big sister roll. I bought a “little brother” onesie yesterday and she found it. She came into the bathroom this morning and very matter of factly told me that she IS a big sister.

– Adalyn also loves to kiss the baby (my belly) every night with a hug and a “goodnight baby.”

– Also when anything comes in the mail for baby Adalyn asks: “This for baby brother?” I respond yes and after inspection of everything she says “Cool Mom. I love it.”

– Baby boy is most active in the afternoon. Luckily for me he does not go crazy in the evening so I fall asleep well. The only thing is if I switch sides he starts to kick until he’s comfortable again. I can handle that though.

– I have no theme for the nursery and we haven’t even started. I just started collecting things about a week ago. I feel like a slacker compared to some of my other Mom friends who are pregnant.

– We have a name and it will not be shared till baby is born. Although last week Karl decided he needs to make sure it’s the best one. I’m pretty confident it is, but you know men and their sons.

That’s about it. I’m going to try to take pictures at every five week mark starting at 30 weeks the next time. I figured that is a good goal. Then right down thoughts on my blog and maybe blog more often? I miss photography and blogging. Our computer is now in the living room due to losing our office to another bedroom so it should make things easier. 🙂
