I shot with my Lensbaby Spark today in full sun. To say it was hard would be an understatement. With no lens hood and I couldn’t use my hand to shield the sun from glare and haze, it was tricky. Since my 50mm needs to go to the shop I’ve only got my 85 and lensbaby. So I’m pushing myself to get creative with my lensbaby. It was beautiful here today, first time in a loooooooooooooooooong time. Yes, it needed that many o’s. We headed out for not one but two bike rides around the block. The little one played hard today outside. How do I know, it’s currently 7:30pm and she’s already asleep in her bed. Bedtime isn’t usually till 9pm and that’s a fight. It was a really good day and we enjoyed our sun before the rain moves in tomorrow.

Met up with a bunch of lovely Clickin Moms ladies to watch the sun rise over Seattle. Unfortunately the sun choose not so up. Pretty typical for this area. But we still had a lot of fun chit chatting and taking photos. The first two were right before the sunrise and the other two just after. I didn’t realize till I was uploading my photos that all my favorites were with my Lensbaby Spark. Love that little guy. He mad our boring grey clouds a bit more fun!

Decided a little while ago to ask Adalyn a bunch of questions I could ask her every year. It was pretty fun and she was totally into it. However she wasn’t the best at answering them. I did love the way she pondered each question though. So happy weekend and enjoy the ramblings of my sweet girl who loves the color yellow even though she says purple. 😉

Disclaimer: Please ignore my messy living room. Yes it only takes the morning for my girl to get it looking like that. lol

So excited to be writing another letter to my little lady this month and to be linking up with some amazing photographers again. Once you’re done reading my letter head on over to my dear friend Courtney’s blog to read her letter to her children and continue with circle.

Dear Adalyn,

This month was a rough one.  Lots of sickness between the two of us and a few sad things I wish never happened.  I hope one thing you learn from me over the years is that even during a storm there is always a rainbow waiting on the other side.  You were my rainbow this month.  You were there for me in a way I never expected from a three year old.  That compassion I talked about in your previous letter shown strong and I was so amazed and proud of you.   Thank you for being there for your Mommy, thank you for being you.  The year may have started off on the wrong foot but I have high hopes that things are changing for us.  That this year is going to end up being a good one.  Those troubles that were with use the last two months will be thoughts forgotten while new beautiful memories replace them.

We are going to face many challenges and difficult things in life but know that we always have each other and Daddy to lean on.  We are a team; we will get through anything together.  We love each other and that is the most important thing in life.  I couldn’t ask for a better little family and we got through that storm and now we are on the other side.  A side filled with rainbows, love and laughter.  A good place, a happy place and it looks so promising.

So my sweet girl, always keep your head up.  Your Daddy and I will always be here for you to weather the storm.  We love you so much and are so proud of you and everything you do.  I know Mommy has started your letters a bit emotional and I promise that they will be more up beat in the coming months.  We’ve got a lot of fun memories to make this year.

Love,
Mommy
xoxo

I’m pretty sure we’ve had too many sicknesses in our house to count over the last two months.  We got hit hard again this last week with this little one getting the worst of it.  Three days of low grade fevers and snot for miles.  She finally feeling better with a bit of congestion and a nasty cough still lingering.  It’s funny that I can only get “peaceful”  feeling photos out of her when she’s sick.  When she’s too tired to make a any weird faces or run from me.  Of course we did a get a couple funny faces out of this little photo opt.  But most of them looked like this.
